I realized recently that, although the major corporate networks are allowed to bombard us with unsolicited smut and (especially same-sex) innuendo and provocation, the average Joe salt-of-the-Earth can now be charged with a misdemeanor for sending something of the same nature via social media that is determined to harass someone; this is an interesting double standard where rules of decency are set up for commoners, but do not exist for those who wish to influence the commoners. How convenient for them, huh?
