A van driver who swerved in front of the Stockholm terrorist saved hundreds of lives by forcing him to lose control of his hijacked beer lorry and thunder into a department store.

Santiago Cueva, 27, spent an extra 10 minutes eating lunch with a colleague before heading back to work - a decision that ultimately prevented the attacker from smashing into Sweden’s parliament building.

He told MailOnline that he wanted to protect Sweden’s government building, which was only 500m from where the horrifying attack took place.
