Gravestones for U.S. veterans continue to be vandalized for FOURTH day in a row

In 2016, Pennsylvania was an important political battleground state; since then, the fight for ideas appears to have spilled outdoors.

During the 2020 Memorial Day weekend, a towering monument honoring Pittsburgh's war veterans was vandalized. On the other side of the state, where Philadelphia has been the site of a war over words concerning memorials, vandals desecrated a number of graves for fallen U.S. military veterans. In one cemetery alone, at least one hundred U.S. flags were torn off the graves of U.S military veterans over the last three days. A local news station, 69 News, has the report:

Police in Bucks County are trying to figure out who keeps vandalizing a cemetery near Quakertown. Someone has been going to Union Cemetery and pulling up and ripping apart the American flags on veterans' graves, said Richland Township Police Chief Rich Ficco. Toilet paper has also been thrown around the cemetery. It's happened overnight the past four nights in a row, Ficco said Wednesday. At least 70-100 flags have been destroyed, police said. It's not clear how many people were involved in the incidents.
