Total media blackout; if it wasn't for the obscure "Arabiya News Channel", nobody would have even known about the incident:
from "Israeli comedian likens Muslims to cockroaches," translated by Sonia Farid for Al Arabiya News Channel
Outraged Palestinians have called for legal action against a prominent Israeli comedian after a guest on his talk show launched a scathing tirade against Muslims and compared them to cockroaches.
In an attempt at humor, a guest on Israel's "Tonight with Lior Schleien" mocked the way Muslims pray and to the audience's delight likened the way they looked when in prostration to a penis.
The guest continued his jibe to cheers and applause and went on to compare Muslims to cockroaches. But for some, the jokes were not so funny as Muslim MPs and activists threatened to file a lawsuit against the host of the show for allowing his guest to make the comments broadcast on Israel's Channel 10, the London-based Asharq al-Awsat reported.(more)
Now just imagine the media response if a Palestinian comic had said that the Jews look like "cockroaches" and "penises". After all, saying Jewish people "run CNN", "don't spend a lot of money", "have big noses", "make bad neighbors", "are punching Palestine like a cake" and "control print media" is already enough to fire up the media, create trouble and prompt the Anti-Defamation League to come after you (1,2,3).
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) claims it wants to "stop the defamation of the Jewish people and secure justice and fair treatment for all." But, after Lior Schlein compared Muslims to penises and cockroaches, the organization was nowhere to be found. The ADL also overlooks the behavior of Sandra Bernhard (1,2,3) and Sarah Silverman (1).
If you haven't figured it out by now, political correctness is a one-way street: non-Jews have a code of behavior to follow, but Jews don't. If you are Jewish, you can say anything you want about any religion or race, and nobody is allowed to say anything back.
